Dr. Jay Nesvold
         

           Dr. Nesvold grew up in Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2001.  In 2002 he relocated to Boston and completed a General Practice Residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  From here he moved to New Hampshire and in 2005 started a “scratch” dental practice in Portsmouth.  Dr. Nesvold held a faculty position at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for 2 years as an attending doctor in the early years of his practice.  He currently lives in the area with his wife and two children.

 Course Outline:
 
  • Case presentation of 3 to 4 implant supported maxillary overdenture

 

  • Different modes of retention will be evaluated with advantages and disadvantages presented

 

  • Literature review of accepted success of each mode

 
  • Protocols presented for how to proceed with cases prior to implant placement as well as after implant placement
 

Attendees will be able to;

 

  • Identify different forms of maxillary implant supported overdenture retention and the benefits and disadvantages of each

 
  • Implement a sequence protocol for treatment planning maxillary implant supported overdentures from start to finish.
